We field-tested the BeachBoard with the Wildwood, New Jersey, Beach Patrol. Admittedly, they were a little skeptical at first, but within a weekend, they’d come to realize the value in having the BeachBoard in their arsenal.
The long-lasting battery was a surprise to them. They also weren’t expecting the BeachBoard to completely change the dynamic of their interaction with the public. Compared with patrolling in an ATV, the BeachBoard enabled the lifeguards to be much more accessible to beachgoers. And all those interactions opened up lots of new lines of communication.

Its easy maneuverability, stable platform, and comparably slight size allow the BeachBoard to also get around large crowds beach crowds like no other vehicle. Additionally a BeachBoard’s top speed is completely programmable in open sand, dramatically reducing travel time during rescues and routine station checks alike.
With riders poised in a standing position, the BeachBoard also enables lifeguards to maintain a 360-degree view of their surroundings. The whisper-quiet electric motor won’t interfere with potential distress sounds.
When the summer begins to take a toll, the BeachBoard becomes an essential means of preserving an exhausted patrol. Its off-road suspension coupled with those oversize tires creates a sensation of surfing the sand, which, even if it’s only momentary, is a respite for sore muscles and aching joints.
